Spring's Tender Touch

Springtime rain sprinkled on the fresh mown lawn
The puddles oil floating in the sea
As winter’s lackluster melts away
With powers of an alchemist
Throwing acid in the air
To produce this breathtaking picture

Almost overnight youth has sprung
Nature’s acumen like artists
Who hone their crafts
As pastels sweep the grounds
Gauge the depth of beauty within
Supple greenery, steadfast trees-
Joy is spring’s tender touch

So many beautiful wordings in this poem. I feel this poem, as we just experienced the 'birth' of spring here in all of its glory. The last line rings so true to my own feelings:

"Joy is spring's tender touch."

All the poets seem to be re-born this spring: I've read such a lot of beautiful poetry, including yours. Joie de vivre is the order of the day.

I have this vivid picture in my mind of the alchemist throwing acid in the air, and everything changes--for the better and brighter. Delightful!

The image of the alchemist throwing acid in the air is stunning. It will stick with me. I hope spring comes to Montana soon, and as beautifully as yours.

Great theme, nature's alchemy, the magic that is the seasons shifting -- 'Nature’s acumen like artists
Who hone their crafts'.

I echo Margo's comment, Laurie. That is my favourite part as well.

And I think I see your tender touch, perhaps it is just spring? Love this piece.
